Welcome to our FAQ section! Here you’ll find answers to the most common questions about the EUDIS Matchmaking, helping you navigate key information quickly and easily.
To complete your application, we request you fill in some information about your company and the founders, and a brief to showcase your motivation to join the EUDIS Matchmaking programme. Innovator are also requested to submit information on their technology, business perspective and funding. Please note you will be required to upload your recent pitch deck.
All applications will be treated with complete confidentiality, governed by our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Statement.
The selection process runs continuously. Every month we select a new batch of participants, therefore it may take up to one month for us to review your application. You will receive an update on your status as soon as a decision is made.
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to make the most out of the programme.
Once your application is accepted, you can freely apply to any online matchmaking events through the platform. These events are open to all registered participants. However, some online events may have limited capacity. In those cases, access will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
For each on-site matchmaking event, we run a separate selection processes. Selection will be based on factors like the event fit (alignment of your profile and objectives with the scope and focus of the event) and your readiness to effectively engage at the event. We will conduct this evaluation based on the information you provide in your application for that specific event.
This is up to you! The programme requires primary digital participation, with most activities conducted online. Participants will only be required to attend the physical events for which they apply. We encourage you to join these on-site events to make the most out of the networking opportunities offered by EUDIS Matchmaking, but we will also organise virtual pitching session and other online events.
There's no limit to the number of online or onsite events your company can participate in. However, some events may have limited capacity. In those cases, access will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. For pitch sessions and other activities organised during matchmaking events, a limited number of companies will be selected.
As an investor, corporate, or end-user, you will have access to all relevant online matchmaking events with no limitations. However, for physical events with limited capacity, access will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis. For events dedicated to a specific target group (e.g. investor-focused events), priority will be given to this group.
Yes, public research organizations are welcome to join EUDIS Matchmaking! Please apply under the End-User category, as your role aligns with that stakeholder group.
All digital activities are covered by the programme for all participants.
Additionally, we will cover the cost of the ticket for the selected innovators when the physical Matchmaking activity is integrated within specific tech or defence events or conferences. However, please note that your ticket may not grant access to the full scope of the larger show. Our focus is on providing you with access to the dedicated matchmaking activities, workshops, and networking opportunities within the EUDIS matchmaking program. Moreover, as an innovator you will need to cover your travel and accommodation expenses to on-site events.
We will provide comprehensive support to help you prepare for all physical and selected online matchmaking events. This might include pitching sessions, trainings on visual story-telling, and other activities designed to refine your presentation and maximize your networking success. You will also have opportunities to receive valuable feedback from Defence experts, organizers and peers.
Innovators and investors can designate a primary and secondary point of contact. These contacts can freely participate in most matchmaking activities. However, some activities, such as physical events, may have limitations on the number of participants per organization.
Yes, EUDIS Matchmaking and other EUDIS initiatives, such as the EUDIS Business Accelerator, are closely related.
They are both part of the broader EUDIS program, which aims to strengthen the European defense innovation ecosystem. While Matchmaking focuses on fostering connections innovators with investors, corporates and end-users, the Business Accelerator provides structured support for innovators to develop their businesses and technologies. These, together with other EUDIS initiatives, complement each other, offering a comprehensive range of services to support defence innovators throughout their journey.
You do not need security clearance to apply for the EUDIS Matchmaking program. However, as part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and trustworthy environment, we collect certain data to verify the legitimacy of all applicants. This helps us ensure that the program remains a valuable and reliable resource for the defense innovation community.
